Georgetown, Texas
Georgetown is a great place to live just north of Austin, Texas. Established in 1848, Georgetown is the County Seat of Williamson County. Georgetown enjoys a lot of great shops, restaurants & a museum in the old and well preserved area of historic buildings at the town square on Austin Street where the old courthouse is. S. Austin Avenue, 7th Street, 8th Street and S. Main Street border the courthouse.
There are always events being held in Downtown Georgetown on the Square & it is always vibrant with many restaurants, businesses, a theatre & museum. The Georgetown Holiday Stroll is held every year. The 29th Annual Christmas Stroll was held December 5th, 2009. I was there representing the Williamson Audubon Group, a birdwatching group. Many fine old homes adorn the tree lined streets in the old parts of town near the square such as Austin Avenue & Main Street. Georgetown has one of the best parks and trails systems in the Central Texas area. The Farmer’s Market, Red Poppy festival, an active branch of the Native Plant Society & many other events and organizations add to the richness of this town.

Active Adult Communities
Georgetown has many subdivisions for senior citizens to retire in, the most famous of which is Del Webb's Sun City Texas with 2 championship golf courses. Great hospitals, several country clubs & many great parks and trails make for a wonderful quality of life for all ages. I LOVE to walk Georgetown's trails (my favorite is Blue Hole), enjoy activities on the square & the great restaurants!
