Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is located in Georgetown, TX at 1855 S.E. Inner Loop, Georgetown, TX 78626 (512) 943-3322. Here is a video they do for the dogs in their Kids N K9's Program, a joint project with the Williamson County Academy to help the teens and the shelter dogs:
Through the kids that train the dogs in the wonderful Kids N K9's Program, the dogs receive a "certificate of life" so to speak, they can never be euthanized because of the lack of a home, but will be cared for until adopted. The training makes them much more adoptable and insures their adoptability against euthanization. The graduating dogs from the Kids-N-K9s Program earn their American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) certificate.
The Williamson County Humane Society is a no-kill shelter located at 10930 East Crystal Falls, Leander, TX 78641 (512) 260-3602. They offer low cost spay/neuter and vaccination services to anyone, and free services to low income people.
All three of these great facilities are overloaded with pets and need volunteers and supplies all the time.

Leander Spaying and Neutering :
Please be a responsible pet owner. The unwanted pet population is huge! Unfortunately many of these poor orphan animals will be killed (euthanized) due to lack of space and funds to care for the unwanted pet. Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is currently a “kill” shelter because of this. They take in all the unwanted pets in Williamson County- from Leander, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Round Rock, etc. When they get overfull, some of these innocent pets, especially the sick, the old, the less adoptable pets are killed to make room. This is sad, but currently true. Let’s change this by being responsible with our pets. The Williamson County Humane Society (HSWC) does low cost spaying and neutering for dogs and cats. Call the HSWC office at (512) 260-3602 for more info. Spaying and neutering controls the population and helps all pets to be wanted pets.
Leander TNR
Leander TNR - Trap, Neuter, Release just passed Thursday, August 5th, 2010 in Leander at the City Councul Meeting. Stray cats will be trapped, neutered or spayed and released. Nuisance cats will be moved elsewhere. This is a great program that will help control the feral cat population in Leander. Visit and friend the Shadow Cats Rescue on Facebook.

I have taken my puppy to Lowe’s to shop and Moody’s restaurant to eat in Leander. At Moody’s I sat on the outside deck, not inside. Devine Lake Park in Leander has a leash free area if you want to let your pet run or play Frisbee or ball.

PetsMart at the new 1890 Ranch also offers grooming services. Pet owners also enjoy taking their pets with them for outings and shopping.
