Located in Central Texas in the Hill Country, the population of Austin is about 750,000. I am grateful to live and work in Austin, Texas. My forefathers did well moving to this part of Texas about 1871. When you look at the depressing national news- remember, that is not AUSTIN. We did not have the huge, spiking appreciation like California did and therefore, we did not have the "bubble" to burst. Right now it is more of a sellers market. Austin, Texas was not been hit as hard as other areas of the country in the economic recession a few years back. In fact, some say Austin was thriving in those tough times.
