Liberty Hill Texas is located just north of Leander on State Highway 29 in the western part of Williamson County, one of the fastest growing Texas counties, as well as one of the fastest growing in the US. Lying between the north and south San Gabriel Rivers, Liberty Hill is located 33 miles north of Austin and 15 miles west of Georgetown, Texas & east of Burnet & Bertram, Texas. Many people move to Liberty Hill for the Liberty Hill ISD school district as well as the reasonable prices on rural homes on small acreages. Children in Liberty Hill attend the Liberty Hill Independant School District (LHISD), a "Recognized" district, or a private school of their choice. LHISD is comprised of 100 square miles in Williamson County.
Perdernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) an electric provider in Liberty Hill, just had an open house at their new office in Liberty Hill at 10625 West Highway 29 May 28, 2009 with a new electric lawn mower as a door prize. They offer the Green Works program with rebates and conservation tips. The new Liberty Hill PEC office uses solar panels.

The Highway 29 corridor is being studied for alignment. Interested parties can get information at Williamson County's website on the Road Bond page. There is also a hearing planned June 29, 2009 at the Williamson County Courthouse at 710 Main Streen in Georgetown, the County Seat, regarding the draft plan for Williamson County's transportation master plan.
