Bats are celebrated in Austin. To find out current bat flight times from the Congress Avenue Bridge call the Stateman's Inside Line at (512) 416-5700 and enter Category 3636. Ride the Lonestar Riverboat and see the bats from Ladybird Lake (512) 327-1388. Some of the best bat flights I've ever seen have been from my car on IH 35 in Round Rock at the 620 area of IH 35 northbound as they fly out in swirling live swarms from under the overpass. Go see an Austin Ice Bats hockey game.
