Travis Heights is a very sought after neighborhood located west of IH 35, south of Riverside Drive and east of South Congress. Just south of the Colorado River, Travis Heights is very close to downtown & some homes even offer a downtown view. Many homes were built in the early 1900's. Many of the vintage old homes have been totally remodeled and there is some new construction homes. Many have some original classic features like original fixtures, hardwood fllors and more period quaintness. Travis Heights is hilly & has a peaceful feel to me but you go hang out and be the judge. All the mature trees and shrubs make Travis Heights look real earthy and natural. The tree lined streets are shady and comforting especially during the Texas Summer. One home I sold there on Avondale was like a Frank Lloyd Wright home. It had parking below but everything else was above on a big 1/4 acre lot.

Travis Heights is rated "very walkable" according to the walkability ratings & it truly is close to things! Walk or wheel to the many parks like Stacy Park and Big Stacy pool and the colorful Keepin' It Weird SoCo shopping, Town Lake aka Ladybird Lake, entertainment & eatery areas of the SO Co. As they say, 78704 is a lifestyle, not a zip code!
