Florence, Texas is located in fast growing Williamson County, north of Austin, Texas on Highway 195, the highway to Fort Hood and Killeen and east of Highway 183. The new 1-30 Toll Road begins at Highway 195 just east of Florence. There are several really nice historic homes in Florence and the small downtown has some neat old buildings. I have stood by the big old wood stove in the old Hardware Store on a cold day!

Florence,Texas ranchland is very pretty. This is a picture I took from horseback of a Florence Ranch I sold. There is some great arrowhead hunting in Florence. Many great artifacts were found on this ranch. In fact, UT (The University of Texas at Austin) has a archaeological dig site in Florence. The Gault Site is located northeast of Florence off FM 2843.
