Georgetown texas square

Wintertime at the Georgetown Texas Historic Town Square

There are always events being held in Downtown Georgetown on the Square and it is always vibrant with many restaurants, businesses, a theatre and museum. The Georgetown Holiday Stroll is held every year. The 29th Annual Christmas Stroll was held December 5th, 2009. I was there representing the Williamson Audubon Group, a birdwatching group. Many fine old homes adorn the tree lined streets in the old parts of town near the square such as Austin Avenue and Main Street. Georgetown has one of the best parks and trails systems in the Central Texas area. The Farmer’s Market, Red Poppy festival, an active branch of the Native Plant Society and many other events and organizations add to the richness of this town. I am a member of the Williamson County Chapter of the Native Plant Society that meets at the Georgetown Library.
